Reading Hindu Temple
As part of the Reading Hindu Centre, The Temple is a centre for all Hindus from all walks of life. We are located on Whitley Street, a stone’s throw from the town centre and is easily accessible. The Temple is located in a building which is over one hundred years old.
We have a lively congregation and a Pandit who is a singer trained by Shri Anup Jalota. Why not drop in and experience the new prayer hall and Marble Mandap in our Mandir.

A very happy and joyous new year wish to all our devotees and friends of the temple

May you keep safe and we look forward to getting back to normal and see you all again as soon as possible

the temple is open again

please do remember that the covid safety  rules are still in force

reduced hours are still in force, so from 2nd January the timings will be 5.30pm till 7.30pm  for darshan only

The one way system is in operation

please do follow the route and allow others to pass by with plenty of space,

please be patient, and do not create a delay to allow everyone to be able to have time to pray during the limited hours.

The temple magazine has been updated and released for 2021, click the image to view the magazine, with all of the dates for 2021 and fun information in this new release

Arti and Pujas

During this time, and as we are not allowed to congregate, Anilji will perform the Aarti  without the congregation present.

A gentle reminder…During these times of social distancing and in certain cases of self-isolation, please look after your family and friends, especially elderly and those in need. Please stay safe and well by washing your hands, staying indoors, and standing two meters apart, when out for shopping basic necessities – food and medicines only!

Also, many of you expressed your wish of offering donation to the Temple…and we request you to do that by bank transfer using following details:

Name of the account: Reading Hindu Centre

Bank: Lloyds

Account number: 04076038; Sort code: 30-91-31

As always, your generosity would be greatly appreciated…

Additionally, during these testing times, if you are interested in volunteering for helping out those in needs, then you can join a local group by contacting: 07740183311, 07791258762 or post it to: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GrpCLYwKxDo6EwTdW2aHDz
